Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for the "Creative Future" Funding Program

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about our funding program. If your question is not answered here, please feel free to contact us at info@rig-bautzen.de.

General Questions about the Program

What is the goal of the "Creative Future" funding program?

The main goal is to support local initiatives in and around Székelykeresztúr that implement creative and sustainable projects for children and young people (approx. 6-18 years old). We want to promote talents, strengthen community, and contribute to international understanding. (For details, see Funding Conditions)

Who can apply?

Preferably non-profit organizations (associations, foundations, church communities) from the region are eligible to apply. Other local initiatives or individuals can also submit an application if they cooperate with a local non-profit partner.

Questions about Application and Funding

What is the total amount RIG is allocating for the program?

For the starting year 2025, we have budgeted **8,000 Euros** specifically for this microgrant program.

What is the maximum funding amount per project?

The upper limit is **1,000 Euros (approx. 5,000 Lei/RON) per project and funding round** (i.e., per half-year).

Can an organization submit multiple project applications?

Yes, an organization can generally submit multiple applications for **different** projects. Each application will be evaluated individually. Whether multiple projects are approved simultaneously depends on the quality of the applications and the available funds.

What should be the duration of a project?

The duration should generally **not exceed 12 months**. As funding is awarded semi-annually, a project can extend over two funding rounds or apply for follow-up funding.

What types of projects can be funded?

We fund projects for children and young people (approx. 6-18 years old) in/around Keresztúr that align with our statutes. Examples include projects in the fields of music, art, culture, sports, environmental education, media literacy, crafts, social skills, tutoring, or small camps/leisure activities. The participation of children and a sustainable approach are important to us. (For more examples, see Funding Conditions)

If an organization has a larger project partially funded by another source, can it apply to RIG for the remaining part?

**Yes, absolutely.** If an organization has a larger project and already has partial funding from another source, it can apply to us for funding for the remaining amount (up to the limit of 1,000 Euros per funding round). Co-financing or own contributions are welcome and will be considered positively in the evaluation.

What are the application deadlines?

For the year 2025, the first application deadline is **August 31, 2025**. From 2026, we plan semi-annual deadlines (end of February and end of August). Applications submitted earlier for projects with an early start date can also be reviewed and approved before the deadline.

In which language can the application be submitted?

Applications can be submitted in German, English, Hungarian, or Romanian via our Online Form.

Do I need a separate bank account for the funding?

Yes, a bank account in the name of the applying organization or a responsible person is necessary for the disbursement of funds.

Questions about Project Content

Does my project have to take place in Kerekudvar?

No, not necessarily. Projects in the Kerekudvar Community House are welcome if the conditions are right. However, we explicitly also fund projects that take place in other locations in and around Székelykeresztúr.

Questions about Sustainability

What does RIG understand by "sustainable impact"?

For us, sustainability means that a project achieves positive effects beyond the mere funding period. This can be the continuation of activities, anchoring in the community, the acquisition of lasting skills by participants, or responsible use of resources. The application form contains some guiding questions on this topic.

Questions about Accounting

How is the use of funds accounted for?

Funding is generally provided on a flat-rate basis. Proof of the use of funds is primarily provided through a narrative report with photos, videos, and participant lists. Details will be regulated in the funding agreement.
